How to send a parcel from Moldova to Italy
Send parcels from Chișinău to Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin and more with verified minibus drivers. Pricing, timing, customs and packaging guide.
Moldova → Italy is one of Pachetto's busiest corridors. Italy hosts a large Moldovan community in cities like Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Padua, Verona, Brescia and Treviso, so trips run almost daily.
Typical timing
- Departure days: Most drivers leave Chișinău mid-week (Tue/Wed) or Friday evening, arriving in Italy 2–3 days later.
- Total transit: 2–4 days door-to-door in most cases.
Typical pricing
Per-kg pricing on this route is usually €2.50–€4.00 / kg. A 5 kg parcel typically costs €15–€25. Bulky low-density items (e.g. winter coats, pillows) may be priced as a flat per-parcel fee instead — check both options on the trip card.
Customs
Moldova is non-EU; Italy is in the EU and Schengen. The same rules apply as for Germany:
- Gifts between private individuals up to €45 are duty- and VAT-free.
- Always include an itemised list inside and outside the parcel.
- For commercial shipments, use a forwarder, not Pachetto.
Collection options
Most Italy routes offer all three collection types:
- Door-to-door — driver picks up from your address. Easiest, slightly higher price.
- Meeting point — meet the driver at a parking lot or service area in Chișinău. Cheapest.
- Hub — drop off at a partner hub. Good if you can't be home and there's no convenient meeting point.
Tips for the Italy route
- Write the recipient's Italian phone number clearly. Italian addresses are sometimes ambiguous and a phone call solves most last-mile issues.
- Include the recipient's citofono / interphone name on the box if it differs from the printed surname.
- For food parcels, avoid anything that needs refrigeration unless the driver explicitly offers cold transport.
